My kind of time period
If I could live in another time period and place in history I would like to live in the 1970’s and 1980’s. There are many reasons for this, and it’s not so I can go back in time and see my parents like Back to the Future. First off, the music in the 70’s and…
Auschwitz VR review

I chose to do the Auschwitz VR because I thought I would find it very interesting to be walked through the camp and see what the living and working conditions were like. I wouldn’t even consider it living after seeing what the Jews had to survive in. I knew a little about the concentration camps that Jews were basically stored in. But, I learned a lot about the camp after I watched and listened to the VR. The VR was basically a lady taking you around and talking about each place in the camp and the significance it had during the war. One of the places was the living quarters. The living quarters were one of the most disgusting and heart breaking things I’ve ever seen. The living quarters consisted of hundreds of wooden bunk beds with no pillows or sheets. Disease lurked through the living quarters and killed many people before they were sent to the gas chamber.

One other major thing talked about in the VR was the gas chambers. The chambers were used to gas the jews and the Nazi’s called it “shower time.” I feel like they called it this because first, they didn’t want the jews to know they were getting killed. But also “shower time” also meant cleansing of a disease in a way. Hitler and the Nazi’s looked at Jews and the jewish culture as a disease that needs to be cleansed. It was very powerful and eye opening to see the gas chambers. The chambers looked very dark and evil. It was like a doorway to hell itself. Watching this VR taught me a lot about what the Jews lived in all throughout the war. It opened my eyes to see the real darkness of the Nazi’s and Adolf Hitler’s idea of ridding the earth of disease.
